With only 2.6% of GDP spent on healthcare in 2010, the healthcare system in Indonesia has huge potential for growth.
The government plans to consolidate existing public sector insurance schemes into a single universal scheme, which is due to be phased in from the beginning of 2014, with a view to covering the entire population by 2019.
