Of the nearly 63.4 million population in the United Kingdom (U.K.), the number of those age 65 and older comprise an estimated 17.3%.The sovereign state is expected to experience modest growth in the age 65 and older group over the coming years, with this population projected to comprise an estimated 18.5% by the year 2020. According to World Health Organization (WHO) estimates, 9.4% of the U.K.’s gross domestic product was spent on healthcare in 2011.
